Why Save?

Help your child follow their dreams

Is there something your child would love to be when they grow up? A doctor? A footballer? A vet? An astronaut?

Training for a profession has never been more expensive, and the cost of living keeps on increasing, which could make following their dreams harder than ever. So saving for your child's future has never been as important.

An ASDA Child Trust Fund is a great way to save for your child, which is why we work with The Children's Mutual, the UK's leading specialist in children's savings.

The Government currently makes two contributions - one of at least £250 when you register for Child Benefit, and another round about the child's 7th birthday.

Because a Child Trust Fund is all about your child's future, none of the money can be touched until they reach 18. Just before their 18th birthday, your child will be informed of the options open to them.

How to contribute

It couldn't be easier. If you want to set up a Direct Debit, or make a one-off payment, you can do it online, by phone, by post, or at your local bank.

Whenever you want to make a payment you'll need to quote your child's Unique Reference Number (URN) which can be found on your Child Trust Fund Certificate and in the top right hand corner of any letters you receive.

Online

You can set up a Direct Debit or use your Debit Card to make one-off payments to your child's Child Trust Fund.

Account Number: 01912750

Please be sure to enter your child's Unique Reference Number (URN) in the 'Reference Number' box on the paying-in slip.

By cheque

ASDA Child Trust Fund Graph

† This is in addition to government contributions of £250 at start and at age 7. We’ve used 18 years as our example period because the money can’t be taken out, until your child’s 18th birthday. These figures assume growth at the FSA mid-rate of 7%, and annual charges of 1.5% of the account’s value each year. They are only examples and are, therefore, not guaranteed. Your child could get back more or less than this. Do not forget that inflation would reduce what you could buy in the future. For more detailed information about possible returns, please see the Key Features.
