How does ASDA Breakdown Cover work?
RAC will come out to help you anywhere in the UK if your car’s broken down, won’t start or you’ve been involved in an accident. You don’t even need to know where you are, as they’ll find you using your mobile phone signal. If your car can’t be fixed at the roadside, which is unlikely as over 80%* can be, it will be taken to a garage.

What if I’ve had an accident but can still drive my car?
You should still call us immediately as we can advise you on what to do at the scene, what information to collect, check the third party is insured and if required notify your insurer. Don’t forget, insurance companies are primarily interested in fixing your car, whereas we can help reduce the impact of the accident on you as a person as well.*
*Receipt of full Accident Care depends on whether in our judgement the accident was fault or non fault. Charges may apply for services we arrange on your behalf.
Will my caravan/trailer be covered?
Under our Recovery service caravans or trailers on tow at the time of a breakdown are covered up to a maximum overall length of 7.6 metres (25'0"). However, if it is your caravan/trailer that has broken down at the roadside and we cannot repair it, we can arrange for it to be recovered at your cost.
Will my membership cover me while travelling in the Republic of Ireland?
If you are travelling in the Republic of Ireland then you should really have European breakdown cover. However you will be covered for Roadside Assistance if you breakdown.
How do deaf and/or speech impaired motorists call for assistance if travelling alone?
ASDA Breakdown Cover does provide assistance via a Minicom Supertel service. Please call 0800 0280 829 for assistance. This number should be on the reverse of your membership card. Alternatively you could text us on 07855 828282.
